Split
My full day in Split started around 2:30 am as I had a fantasy draft that needed to be joined. I slept until 10:30 when Abi was shaking me awake as she was tired of my excessive sleeping for football related business. I sent my laundry to get cleaned which was a blessing as the socks smelled so bad I could smell them from outside the room when they were in my bag. We did a tour of Diocletian’s palace climbing the bell tower and looking at the historic site. We had cevapi sandwiches for lunch and some espresso. Afterwards we went to the archeological museum. They had thousands of Roman sculptures and sarcophagus’ that were found in southern Croatia. Abi really enjoyed and exhibit about how a site in Korcula was excavated and what was found underneath some farmers fields. We headed down to the beach in the mid afternoon heat to go for a swim. The water was warmer than Korcula but the beach was busier. We walked back to the hostel where we showered and I put away my clean clothes. We headed back to the same bar as yesterday for some drinks under the fig tree. We had some nice pasta for dinner and walked back along the beach. We had a snack at the bakery before heading back to the hostel. We are up early tomorrow as we are renting a car from the airport and are heading up the coast.
