Plitvice
The morning our day in Plitvice started at 6:30. We got ready and drove 10 minutes to the park entrance. We were there early for our 8 am start but it was good because we beat all the other tourists to the gate. We set of on loop K which was an 18km round trail that covered the majority of the parks trails. We started by hiking down to the lower lakes where you walk along boardwalks across the shallow lakes and rivers flowing between them. The lakes are so clear you can see all the fish swimming in them and there is lots of plants that live in the shallow water of the rivers. It was really cool the way they built most of the boardwalks because they were just inches over the lakes giving you a really good look into the water. About an hour into our hike we saw a black wolf that just came prancing down the trail. At first we were wondering whose scruffy dog got of the leash but when we saw it walk up into the first we realized it wasn’t someone’s dog. We hiked along the largest lake and climbed a bit to get to the top lake. We came down to more boardwalks that overlooked the smaller top lakes and rivers that connected them. We took a small boat across the lake and then stopped for lunch. We were pretty tired at this point and had already done 13km. We finished the hike strong and headed back to the hotel where we both took a little sleep. When I woke up we went for drive to the little down of Slunj which is a lot more beautiful than it sounds. It was built right next to a river so lots of the houses where build on the banks. Offer walking the town we had some burgers for dinner and headed back to the hotel.
