Ferry to Split

On our last day in Korcula we got up early so we could enjoy our last little bit of time in the town. We walked down to the beach and had a cappuccino and sandwich for breakfast. We grabbed our bags and headed to the ferry. The ferry was quite long but very easy getting to Split. When we got in we headed for the hostel and dropped our bags. We walked around Diocletians palace, which was an old Roman emperors vacation home that turned into his full time residence. We walked around town for a bit and the went for a hike in Telegrin park. After walking the entire park we took a cab back into town where we had some drinks in a cute little cafe with a deck underneath a massive fig tree. For dinner we decided to have some Italian sandwiches which reminded me lots of my time in Florence. I had the mortadella with the stratchiatella cheese and pistachio pesto. After dinner we had some gelato and went to sit down by the seaside. It is super busy in Croatia right now more than just tourists as they are celebrating 25 years since winning the final battle in Croatian war that led to their independence. That night we decided to make some adjustments to our itinerary giving ourselves some more time in some smaller towns. We have one more day in Split then we are off up the coast.
