Budapest to Ottawa to Nova Scotia
On our final day of the trip we got up early to get some coffee close to our place. I was enjoying my final affogato in Europe. We stopped for some focaccia sandwiches on the way home, making me reminisce about my time in Florence eating sandwiches every single day. We were definitely stressed about the upcoming air Canada strike and were honestly unsure if we would make it back to Canada anytime soon. We checked out and made it to the airport without any problem. Our flight to Frankfurt was pretty easy. Once we got to Frankfurt we blitzed across the airport because we only had 25 minutes until boarding. We made it and we’re happy to see the flight was still a go. My flight to Montreal was painful as the man next to me wasn’t able to sit still for more than 2 minutes at a time and was constantly bumping me. When we arrived in Ottawa it was like Christmas. There were so many people trying to get into their flights. We were standing by our gate waiting for the flight to Ottawa when a group came walking down the hall all of them telling us our flight wasn’t going to take off. It turns out they all boarded and then had to get off when the flight attendants wouldn’t work as the flight would land after 1am et. Fortunately for us our flight did board and did take off so even though those guys tried to jinx us we made it through. We arrived in Ottawa where Janine picked us up. We headed back to the place and crashed immediately. The next morning we had to pack up all my things as we were heading to New Brunswick today. We spent 2 hours packing up the rest of my clothes, computer stuff and miscellaneous things. We drove from Ottawa to Woodstock New Brunswick stopping outside Drummondville for lunch, at a restaurant stop past Quebec City and in Edmunston NB for dinner. Tomorrow we are off to Sackville where Chloe will join and we will drive to Halifax. From there I will get the keys to my house and we will unload all of the stuff we have in the 2 cars. After that we are going to drive back to PEI where we will spend the night. The next day we will be driving to Sydney NS where will board the overnight ferry to St John’s NL. I think I will continue to update the blog a bit periodically through the trip to Newfoundland as I have enjoyed writing it out and want to remember all this craziness at some point. There are a lot of moving pieces right up until I start my somewhat real job as a student.
Glad you will continue blog. Glad you are back on Canadian terra firma. ❤
