Iceland May 24th 2022

Although some may say that day three of the vacation is for tea, I say day three is for pee; -ing in $5 bathrooms.  It was sad to leave Vik this morning with its beautiful cliffs and cheap beers.  That being said, there were waterfalls to see!  Travelling back to a country where tips are included in one's bill ahead of time, I have come to realize the importance that they play in Canadian culture.  I don't want my food placed down with utmost gentleness for the dressed-up farm animal I am.  That being said the food has been excellent so far, with us continuously being on an Iceland burger crawl.  These blond beauties know how to cook their meat!  Today started off with a hike around a flathead that emerged from black sands that ran from the mountains to the ocean.  This long stretch is covered in little more than the odd shrub, but the flathead that emerges has beautiful views of the surrounding area.   We hiked up and rolled down the grassy hills.  On the drive to Hof, we needed to stop at one of the paid toilets at the tourist trap so Lachlan could offload last night's meal.  We stopped at a massive canyon with a running river and multiple waterfalls in the surrounding 200-person towns.  We checked into our place tonight, which turns out to be a quaint little farmhouse in the middle of a field filled with sheep.  I am not sure what the sheep-to-person ratio in this country is, but they should have a seat in parliament at this rate!  (bad joke)  Anyways we ate more delicious burgers tonight in a part gas station, part grocery store, part pub, part tourist shop multipurpose building.  Day four has lots to do as well, and we are all excited and hope everyone is doing well!  B
