September 28th and 29th

My day started out on the 28th by me trying to jam 18 pairs of t-shirts and 15 underwears into my bag with limited space.  I felt like my mother was sitting on my shoulder telling me that I’d probably run out of sweatpants if I only packed 5. I said goodbye to the other gappies and met Kelly outside the school.  The term 3 break had just begun at the school so it felt like a ghost town. All the borders had left and the Grade 12s has just finished the past Tuesday. Me and Kelly ran out to the station where I got snacks.  The bus ride to Sydney Airport was 3 and a half hours. When I got to the airport I understood why double travelling was easier than single. I drank a couple litres of water and apple juice on the bus. I was ready to throw one of them into the garbage after walking into the bathroom for the third time.  I dumped my bag off and went through security. I went to starbucks for the first time in a couple months. The man was confused when I asked for an Iced Coffee. I had to explain to him that it was coffee with ice in it. He seemed to understand after that. Sydney International seems to be one of the most contrasting airports ever.  The check in feels like a third world hospital. Then on the inside the mushroom chairs makes you feel like your working at google. My flight was leaving at 7:40 and arriving at 12:40 New Zealand time, but due to time change it was 1:40 when we got in. I was lucky enough to be behind a huge group of dutch losers. I was tired once I arrived due to the yelling in front of me.  I flew through customs and took my uber to the hostel with a very nice fijian guy. I’m sure my roomates appreciated me ripping through my entire bag at 2:30 in the morning to find my toothbrush that was actually in the top pocket off the bag. Sunday morning I left for the park next to the hostel. I went out for a nice walk in the morning past the Mosque involved in the Christchurch shooting.  It is incredibly inspiring to see just how well the city has adjusted even though this tragedy had happened just over 6 months ago. Christchurches scenery is so beautiful and is incredibly similar to Vancouver. After this I got to test out my new shared scooter app. These are basically big electric scooters that work like Evo. These were great as today alone I had gone over 25 kilometres. For dinner I went took out some Indian food.  I didn’t realize that when I said spicy they took it seriously until I had to run up to the kitchen for milk while I was talking to my friend.
That’s all for now.  Promise there will be less in the next note.
